Welcome to Pixel Imagery's blog. I will focus on photography that is being talked about among photographers. If it's something I'm not educated in myself, I will do my best to find out. I will try to keep the content interesting. This will not be on commercial photography unless someone asks specific questions about it. I hope you enjoy.
This was not taken with my phone but with my 5D Mark II. We were out raking leaves on what was probably the last warm day that we were going to have in Winooski VT before Sandy hit our area. It was much more fun playing in the leaves and taking photos than getting rid of them.
You can really take a photo of anything, anywhere. As I watch photo contests I don't feel that I see a lot of cell phone photos winning contests unless the competition is specific to using your mobile device. I have to say it's still fun to take photos of simple things I wouldn't usually take photos of.
I'm finding that I stop to take more photos than I usually would with my Canon. I love my DSLR; however, it isn't always convenient to have it ready to take a photo. Sometimes I miss the perfect shot. I feel that photography is a luxury I don't have time for. A woman in my Pro Seminar for Photographers class said it perfect, "I enjoy taking photos and I feel like because I'm having fun when I'm doing it, there is something more important I should be doing. Therefore, I don't take time for my fine art photography." I can relate to her statement. I took this photo yesterday with my iphone while at the library reading up on surrealism.
